Week 2 : Jungle

Field Trip: Mesker Park Zoo and Bontanic Garden, Evansville Indiana
  






Highlights include; Turning our playroom into a jungle, creating a jungle obstacle course by using cushions, pillows, chairs, blankets etc.  Acting out different jungle animals according to the sound of the music in Carnival of the Animals by Saint-SaĆ«ns, wiring craft monkeys on vines, creating lots of jungle puppets and putting on a show, learning to write the letter B in green shaving cream, cutting out squares, reading lots of jungle books, and visiting the zoo!

Week 1: Cows

The C. family is currently using some ideas from Brightly Beaming Resources to help add a bit more structure to get through the approaching cold winter days. For 26 weeks they will recognize a theme, shape/color, number, and letter with a corresponding field trip.

Highlight of week 1. include; sticking "cow spots" all over the play room, milking a latex glove, making our own cheese (ricotta), drawing the letter 'A' in yogurt, adding 1 to the number notebook, eating breakfast at chickfila, using puppets to act out Hey Diddle, Diddle, and a field trip to Smiley farm to observe cows.
